Man alleges Apple shipped him 60 iPhone 15 Pro Max units worth an exorbitant Rs. 1.1 crore
A man’s recent purchase on an ecommerce platform turned into a disappointment when he received a cheaper TV without any accessories instead of the Sony TV worth Rs. 1 lakh. However, in a contrasting story, a TikTok user in the US had an unexpected stroke of luck when he received three boxes containing 60 iPhone 15 Pro Max, each equipped with an impressive 1TB of storage. The total value of this shipment was estimated to be $96000 or Rs. 1.1 crore based on the Indian selling price.
AppleTrack posted about the incident on X, saying, “TikToker claims he was accidentally sent over $100,000 worth of iPhone 15 Pro Max models he didn’t order. He received a total of 60 and they’re all the most expensive 1TB models.
It should be noted that we could not confirm the claim and it is possible that the video was fake and made as a joke or to go viral on TikTok.
A TikTok user claims to have received 60 iPhone 15 Pro Max
A TikTok user with the handle @legends_gio posted a video on the platform showing three huge boxes containing sealed iPhone 15 Pro Max units. He said each box contained 20 units, making a total of 60 units of iPhones.
He also explained that he had ordered 4 iPhone 15 Pro Max phones for work-related reasons. One of them was a 1TB version for himself and three 256GB variants for his team. Although technically he received his unit perfectly, instead of three 256GBs, he was greeted with three boxes full of iPhones.
A single iPhone 15 Pro Max with 1TB storage is priced at $1,599, making 60 units $95,940, or about $96,000. In India, the iPhone 15 Pro Max with the same specifications costs Rs. 199,900. A total of 60 takes this figure to a whopping Rs. 1.1 million.
However, this happiness is short-lived. The right thing for the user to do would be to contact Apple and tell them about the error. If he tries to take advantage of the situation, Apple can remotely brick the devices, rendering them worthless. However, we hope that Apple will compensate the person for the problems.
